Abstract ββ
In June 2022, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work was amended to include a safe and healthy working environment as a fundamental labour right. Regardless of whether a member state has ratified the ILO convention, there is an obligation to recognize, promote, and realize the fundamental principle and right to a safe and healthy working environment. In Mongolia in 2024: > Approximately 388 workplace accidents occurred. > 433 people were involved in workplace accidents. > 78 people lost their lives. This translates to that every day, 1 or more workplace accidents occur, 1 or more people are involved in workplace accidents, and every 5 days, 1 or more people die due to workplace accidents. Globally, an average of about 16,000 people die daily from accidents and injuries, and tragically, one in every ten people involved in workplace accidents dies. The World Health Organization studied mortality stemming from workplace accident risks in 172 countries and ranked them by the mortality rate per 100,000 people, with our country included in the high-risk category. Global statistics indicate that out of 300 hazardous incidents, 29 result in minor injuries, and 1 results in a fatality. In other words, global statistics show 1 fatality for every 300 hazardous incidents. However, research shows that in Mongolia, there are 75 fatalities for every 400 hazardous incidents. Globally, the paramount importance of occupational safety is recognized. Individuals engaged in work must prioritize ensuring their own occupational safety. Attention must also be paid to the safety of colleagues. Therefore, within the framework of the "Occupational Safety and Health β 2025" campaign in Mongolia, under the slogan "OSH DEVELOPMENT, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATION, AND DIGITALIZATION," an initiative has been put forward to specialize and improve the knowledge, skills, attitude, and habits of certified occupational safety and health professionals and all employees who are responsible for maintaining the health and safety of workers engaged in the labor market. This initiative proposes using VR/AR technology for digital training programs.
